What a wonderful man Cees is for encouraging his wife to go learn and find out about Michael. To drop his life even if it is for a day and take his wife to another country so she can learn about a man she loved other than him. I felt sorry for Anna at first because I thought she should be with Michael, life is so unfair, but she is really blessed to have Cees.

I really wanted this novel to go in a different direction. I was sitting on my couch looking taking a chapter break because I'm choked up in tears, literally. My heart aches for Anna & Michael. And even though I understand Anna's beliefs on what love really is now other than the fairy tale romance; how can you not respect, cherish and love a man like Cees. Anna has been truly blessed. So far I really love this book.

My heart breaks for Michael. I'm so annoyed though, I can't read this book now because I have to work. It's that good. I can't wait to read it some more.

I never have understood Ireland's war amongst themselves & religion. It seems that religion starts a lot of wars. I remember hearing of bombing and such in Ireland when I was little. Not that I'm Irish, I'm not, but my heart aches for victims of our own evil doings. My heart breaks for Michael, I hope I leave this book happy or feeling like I've learned something valuable.

I forgot to mention Anna letter about her father hatred towards the Germans and the weight he carries around. I believe it was page 83 or 86. I like what she says about letting go and forgiveness.

This book is really good. I bet it will be on my fav's list.
