Chloe is taking big risks in order to find out what she did to make Julien move away. She is so curious as to why this happened and what she did that was so bad. "It's crazy ironic to that I'm flying two thousand miles, hoping to God to end up right back where I started" (216). This quote is a strong example of how desperate Chloe is to figure everything out.

Chloe is so happy that she is friends with Maggie again and her life is still not what it used to be but it is getting much better. One example of figurative language to show this is, "Maggie leaps up with a squeal, and we hug and dance around in circles like we're 10 years old and we've just been given concert tickets to see the biggest boy band around" (212). This shows how excited they are.

Chloe is finally happy. She is now with Adam and it feels right for her. Maggie is now talking to her and is finally starting to trust her again. "He steals one of my sausage links beside my pancakes and the conversation shifts...it's the first time I've felt normal since I woke up in the classroom" (184). This quote describes that's Chloe once again feels normal and her life is starting to get back to track,

I feel terrible for Chloe. She is a complete mess and she can't remember anything. However, its not her fault. Everyone is blaming her and thinks she did something wrong. She feels very let down. "sometimes, the lunatic shutters crack open, and i could see the completely normal girl trapped behind them" (178). This quote shows how Chloe feels about herself.

Chloe is very shocked to find out a big clue in the Julien mystery. Maggie comes over to Chloe's house and tries to help her. When Maggie takes Chloe to Juliens old house she shows Chloe something jaw-dropping, in Juliens closet she wrote, "I wasn't crazy before. Someone did this. Chloe knows" (162). Chloe now knows that she played a big role in Juliens dissapearance but she still can't pin point what had happened.

Chloe still cannot get over the fact that there is something seriously wrong with her and that she still can't figure out the last 6 months of her life. "Oh god, Maggie was right. Something happened to Julien, and dr. Kirkpatrick knows what it is" (136). This quote seems very suspicious and something is going on involving Chloe but she has no idea what it is, what she's done, and just how much trouble she may be in.

Chloe cannot get over the fact that she has a serious problem and can't remember a thing from the last 6 months of her life. "Oh god, Maggie

Chloe still can't figure anything out. Chloe has broken up with Blake. She just doesn't feel comfortable being in a relationship with someone when she's in love with someone else. She goes to Adams house to talk to him but he is acting weird like something happened between them. "Go home, Chloe," he says gritting each word out like it's physically painful. "Please just go" this shows the awkward situation Chloe is in

Chloe is still trying to figure things out but some people are refusing to give her answers..."I know you don't want to talk Daniel, but my career is on the line here...well if everything's so fine, why is Chloe Spinnaker asking me about Julien" (139)? When dr. Kirkpatrick says this, it really throws Chloe for a loop. She can't remember anything. She promises herself that she will find out what happened that summer.

Chloe still can't make up her mind. Blake has always been her dream guy. However, she is really in love with Adam. Her heart is telling her one thing but her gut is telling her another. "He reels me in, leaning down to kiss me again...I try to leave but I feel frozen to the floor. Adams eyes find mine across the hall" (102). This shows the power of what Chloe is feeling towards Adam
