Meant to sample an essay or two last night and ended up reading a third of the book. The essay on "Top Ten Rejected Plot Twists from THE LORD OF THE RINGS alone was worth the price of admission, with a quotation from another work that I recognized immediately, and had me falling off my chair laughing. I always enjoyed David Bratman's style when giving papers. Erudite without being stuffy. This is a treasure.
