I love that this book is so complex with all these different characters but I can't shake the feeling that this slows down the story a bit too much...

Reading about all the hunger makes me really need to have some breakfast now ^^

I really like that Grant pays a lot of attention on how the kids have to deal with existential issues like fighting the hunger, raising small children and the like because this makes the story quite realistic despite all the supernatural stuff
