Notes:
(1) I wish I read this a lot sooner. "Stray Dogs" was one of the best books I read in 2021, but it's been a while, and I don't remember much.
- This is essentially a companion book of short stories, and I'm sure it would hit home a lot better if I had the main series fresher in my memory.
(2) I appreciate that the original creative team is back on this. Love the art.

is finished

Notes:
(1) Second issue was pretty bland, milquetoast.
- Nothing terrible, nothing worth going out of your way to read.
- Decent enough to pass the time, but little more than that.
(2) The last story here's sort of an epilogue to the whole series.
- Definitely tries to tug on the heartstrings, but that's all it does. You don't learn anything about the dog or even the owner.

Notes:
(1) These aren't so much short stories as they are setups and punchlines.
(2) When a story's about something (which isn't guaranteed), it's about the reaction to abduction and murder.
(3) The best story so far is also the shortest, about an Instagram dog.
- Starts out silly and seemingly pointless, then the last page does a complete 180, finishing it really poignant.

Notes:
(1) The prologue here's actually the prologue to "Stray Dogs #1," which was reprinted along with this new material for the Free Comic Book Day issue.
- Here, it's just another short story, and pretty unremarkable.
- There's a good deal of tension, but only because you know what's going to happen. Ergo, it's much better after you've read the series than at the outset.
