The writing is so dry, and I wonder if that is the essence of a memoir? The story is not compelling, but I’m interested in how the author uses yarn and knitting as metaphor. It’s also such a contrast to the young, upbeat, voice of Judy in daddy long legs.

I find myself compelled to read this. I don’t like the dry writing but I decided to skim through that part and just read that yarn and knitting parts. It’s not earth shaking, but it’s interesting.
