The Fault in Our Stars was my favorite book this year because it was very intriguing, interesting, and hard to put down. The book was very emotional because the characters Hazel and Augustus develope, along with their growing romance, as the novel progressed throughout their depressing lives. Their days are numbered due to their cancer, and the novel taught me to appreciate life and love others while I still can.

Second Chance Summer is similar to To Kill A Mockingbird because the main characters, Taylor Edwards and Jean Louise Finch, both develop into more mature characters through their experiences as the novel progresses. They both learn from others around them, Taylor finding herself and learning to not run from her life problems and Jean Louise learning her identity and how to distinguish good and evil in her community.
