Hard going! The plot is elusive and the style seems like a competition to use the most obscure words possible. I have a reasonable vocabulary but this seems like a smart Alec showing off his new dictionary without any intention of actually communicating. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mars books. This book is nothing like them.
