Know why Arabs are still categorized as white in the US? Bc the earliest arab immigrants wrote and sued and advocated for their whiteness, bc if they weren’t perceived as white, they wouldn’t have been given the right to citizenship.

SubhanAllah, one of the early enslaved Africans in America wrote Surat al-Mulk in his autobiography. The surah that talks about Allah's dominion, kingdom, possession, power over everything and everyone, that starts off with "Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion and he is All-Powerful over everything."
I wonder if he saw it as empowering bc it emphasized the power of Allah over the power of his slaver.
