I didn’t realize I haven’t been updating this..

I’m about to get to page 264 and I want to say that Biz’s mental health is def declining. As a result, she’s being selfish. People with declining mental health become selfish and that’s OKAY. But it’s sad seeing everyone around her hurting while she’s trying to do what’s best for her. I can’t believe she sold the camera and is planning to leave.

“What is it they say on planes: Put on the other person’s oxygen mask before your own, so they don’t die of worry?”
Ha! I love how that’s not what they say but the opposite, and the reason for that is so you don’t die trying to help them. Help yourself so you can help them. But I love the choice in making biz see it as the opposite. Bcuz she hasn’t found a way to help herself, just keep others happy.

There’s a part on page 160-161 where Bud runs into her old friend group, sorta, and one of them (Evie) almost says something to Biz. How I can relate to that SO MUCH.

It’s one thing to run into these people in public and just awkwardly stare and walk away. It’s another when they’re related by family in some way. Then you see then quite often and you almost forget you’re not associated anymore.

As I’m sure most teenagers can relate, I’ve been kicked out of a friend group. I don’t want to say it’s almost refreshing knowing it’s relatable. Like I’m not alone. Many of us have this shared trauma with toxic friend group relationships and we can get thru it. At least I hope Biz can get through it.

So far.. some things are a little predictable but it’s not making me cringe. There are some words that I have never heard of or used before. I also understand why the spelling is wrong for other words purposely so we can pronounce them, mentally, in an Australian accent. It’s makes sense. Creative choice. I find it strange but interesting as well.
