Notes:
(1) "[Jason] disappeared, only to come back with a new girlfriend. Meanwhile, Percy had... rebuffed Reyna too. Now Annabeth had come to take him away."
- Reyna's sort of like Calypso. Maybe she's cursed too?
(2) Piper: “Like water leaking through a dam.”
Percy: “Yeah, we’ve got a dam hole.”
Piper: “What?”
Percy: “Nothing. Inside joke."
- I enjoy the dam reference, but nobody who'd get the inside joke is there.

Notes:
(1) Bacchus: "Juno says she’s assembled a worthy crew of demigods. Show me. Entertain me, heroes of Olympus."
- Nearly Book 4 and we've finally got a titular line.
(2) As much as I enjoy teen angst melodrama, the messiness of the plot keeps me from rating this higher.
- This is made up almost entirely of side quests. A lot of commotion, after which I often forgot what the point was and how they even got there.

Jayson is 87% done

Notes:
(1) One thing that stands out in this book is how emotionally needy the girls seem.
- Annabeth and Piper both profess "I love you" to their boyfriends, and both go into romance novel internal monologuing about how lost they'd be without them.
- It's not something the guys go on-and-on about in their POV chapters.
- Hazel's the key exception, but her affections seem weirdly divided between Frank, Leo and Sammy.

(1) What Audrey Hepburn looked like easily comes to mind. I had to look up what Gregory Peck looked like.
(2) "[Percy's] mother had drummed it into his head: It’s good manners to walk your date to the door. If that was true, it had to be good manners to walk her to the start of her epic solo death quest."
- I feel like all their quests are essentially "death quests."

(1) It's ironic how Frank sees Leo as a serious threat to steal away Hazel when Leo's whole thing is he can't get a girl.
- Though, looking exactly like her old boyfriend, one preumes an existing physical attraction.
(2) Leo: "Frank, I know this is weird. Believe me. But I don’t like Hazel — not that way. I’m not moving in on your girl."
- How very Harry Potter to Ron Weasley. I wonder if Harry was also lying?

Jayson is 35% done

Notes:
(1) Since sailing away, the whole group seems to be suffering from a kind of cabin fever. Stuck together all the time, jealousy and hormones run rampant.
- Percy and Jason jockey for the alpha male position.
- Leo constantly has to remind himself that Hazel is Frank's girlfriend.
(2) Percy and Annabeth get caught sleeping together... literally. Which gets them in about as much trouble as if it were figurative.
