One example of figurative language is when he is describing the families on the Indian reservation. On page 89 he says "Indian families stick together like Gorilla Glue, the strongest adhesive in the world." He said this because of the shape his family is in. His dad is an alcoholic and gambles away money that they do not have. His mom is a shoplifter and his sister is in drugs. Even though they still are together.

During these pages junior is being bullied. He is being bullied by a huge kid named Roger. He is being called names such as "chief" and "redskin" . They eventually start to push him around. Then once they make a racist comment about him they he punches him in the face and knocks him out. From then on all the kids respect him.

After Mr. p told him that he should move to a different school district he decided to not tell his best friend Rowdy the day he was going to leave. When he tells him he beats him up and calls him mean names such as "white lover'. After Rowdy beats him up he says "My heart broke into fourteen pieces." He is devastated and is now depressed.

This book has only gotten worse for him. He stared his first day of high school. His teacher hands an old broken math book. He gets so angry that he throws the book in the teachers face. He gets suspended and when his teacher comes to visit him he throws him for a loop. He tells him he is "the only person who has not given up." He says that he should go to a school outside of the the reservation.

This book is about a boy who is living on an Indian reservation. He is born into an extremely poor family and he has with numerous physical disabilities. In the beginning every thing in his life seems to be horrible. For example every day he is bullied for his oddley proportioned head. He says that "Everybody on the rez. calls me retard at least twice a day."The only person who is helping him is his best friend.
