Scandalous behaviour in the first chapters of this. GK is always a fun read and - though I haven't finished yet - signs are good that I will enjoy this to the very end.

One quibble though. The Young Hussy is said to be wearing a dress "the colour of dawn ". I've been wondering for days. What colour is that? Grey? Pink? Yellow? Red? Blue? I don't know and I wish I did.
