There are only so many times a person close to you ups and leaves, or says they hate you, before you have to ask yourself why. According to this woman, she has met man after man who immediately lusted after and fell in love with her, and then treated her wrong. Many of them cheat, or leave. One hits her, and another burns down her house.

When one of her unhappy lovers threatened to call CPS, she’s flabbergasted and once again, the victim in the story. I am unnerved by the positive reviews for this book, extolling the author. She clearly has narcissistic tendencies.

Meanwhile, a jealous woman she’s only met in passing hates her so much she stalks her, threatens her, kills her pets, and wrecks her home. All through this, she claims complete innocence. Never to blame for anything. Did I mention that through a good portion of these affairs and misadventures, she has a little kid that she just leaves at home alone unattended, unless she feels like being a mother that night?

I swear, this book gets more and more chilling the more I read it. The author started out funny and charming, detailing her many misadventures in life. But there is a definite pattern here. There is no excuse for assault, sexual or otherwise, but why does it keep happening? And why is she never to blame for any part of these abusive relationships?

She’s not a bad writer, but damn, this woman reads as toxic as hell. Every man she meets wants her. Every woman is jealous of her. She can’t figure out why bad things keep happening to her, people around her start hating her for no reason and she has to keep moving away and starting over.

While this woman has indeed lived a very exciting life, I’m sick to death of hearing her sing the praises of every man she meets. I’m ready for the bear to attack her, already.
