Returning to this book which I read when it was new, & I was in junior high--a little while ago. I was curious how I would experience it.Victoria Holt was prolific; she wrote 5000 words every morning before lunch. Wanted to re-read one of her most successful books. So far, my feelings are mixed. Improbable, atmospheric, at times unintentionally funny; I admit it: I like it still!
