Just recently in the story one of the characters turned against John and turned him in to the FBI. These two characters had a really good relationship with each other and at first I was confused why the author chose to do this. Upon further analysis, I have come to the conclusion that the author is beginning to show that you cannot trust other people and at some point you have to start taking care of yourself.

As the story gets closer to the climax, John begins to fall in love with Six even though he is already in love with Sarah. Learning about his struggle to push Sarah away is very captivating and really enhances the plot.

This is the second book in the series and I am very excited to start it. It is interesting to see the point of view from a Garde and to see that they are all curious about each other. I can already see the foreshadowing that the narrator is creating because she repeatedly talks about how they haven't left that same place for many years and that the Mogadorians may have already found their location.
