I am now through the first half of the book, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" and I am quite enjoying it. The next portion is the second collection of stores, "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes." Since they are short stores, this allows me to take a short break in the middle and read a different novel and return to this thereafter.

"A Study In Scarlet" was great, though "The Sign of Four" faltered a bit. The short stories definitely outperform the novels.
I think a lot of people fail to realize that for as brilliant as Holmes was, he was a pretentious and arrogant ass who thought that his power of observation was something that anybody should be able to do, and passed everything off with a false modesty.
