I like this very much, but the verb inflection of singulars is confusing. I thought 'my family goes to grandma' is correct. And 'A group of men finds beer tasty' is correct. Did I do it wrong or is this author not a native English speaker? It keeps me from immersive reading.

Linda ~ they got the mustard out! ~ Her profile says she was born in the UK, but they can be just as terrible with grammar as anyone else.

Lori S. "'A group of men finds beer tasty'"
The plural in this sentence is making my head ache.

-A group of men find beer tasty-
or
-A group of men find beers tasty-
It also sounds like a partial sentence, but that's just me, I think.

As for "'my family goes to grandma'", out of context, I cannot say if it's correct or not.

"Finds" is third-person singular present tense though, so "a group finds beer tasty" is correct, similar to "he finds beer tasty." I think Hemmel is saying that the way she wrote the sentences would be the correct way, therefore what is actually in the book is wrong. Never having read this author or book though, I don't know what the original sentences were.
