The book seems to be at the climax, with the four children on the run inside the Institute. We read this book in 3rd grade, but back then it all seemed to fly by, and I made no real sense of the plot. Now however, the books contents seems so much richer and the character stories make so much more sense.

As the end of the book draws near, a clear theme regarding the conformist nature of the modern education has been formed. Curtain's Institute most likely represents the average public school, where students are taught to think a certain way, and the four benedictians represent students who choose to think differently.

Trenton Lee Stewart's style is one of minimal sensory description, and high plot content with high character development. So far in the story, Stewart hasnt given us an in depth description of Benedict's house, leaving the layout up tot he readers imagination. The book, however, has moved at a high pace, and we already know Reynies whole backstory.
