It's getting close to where the first book starts. Finally after 68% of who cares these characters are alcoholic assholes.

If you want a book about racing with a little story line mixed in then this is the book for you. But if you want a book with a good story line and good characters then this is not that book.

40% in and still nothing has really happened. And Jameson is an asshole.

We have only gotten up to senior year of high school and I'm pretty sure Sway is and alcoholic.

If you combine this book with the first one, make it alternating points of view, take out at least 2/3 of anything that talks about racing and nothing else, and cut that book in half, then it would actually be a good book.

20% in and nothing has really happened. And at least half of this is Jameson talking about racing that does nothing but take away from the book. It hasn't even got to the point where it overlaps with the first book yet.
