Beacons captures me, and not just because I once worked w/ author Dave's brother Doug at Giesche Shoes. I love it b/c: (1) I love newspapers, (2) I'm obsessed w/ how we get news & the death of printed papers, (3) regional IL/IA case studies resonate w/ me, and (4) I'm fascinated w/ The Chicago Defender. If you're w/ me on 3 or 4 of these reasons, you're probably going to like Beacons too. 2 or less is likely a pass.
