I don’t really find myself interested in the sections about romantic love, which are mainly about marriages and long term relationships. The parts about friendship (philia) catch my eye and i think about my past friendships as i read them. Overall, reading this book makes me feel human. It seems obvious but my experiences are universally shared. I’m not alone and i can learn from others’ stories.

I really enjoy this book - shown by the tens of sticky tabs lining paragraphs that I will return to when i finish reading. It reflects a lot of the thoughts I’ve been having about my own relationships and is helping me view love in a more varied way. The different perspectives are interesting and familiar.
