Jane Austin writes beautifully, in very old, sophisticated language. Although some of the dialogue can be hard to understand at times, as so much detail is presented in each line, I believe that it helps to characterize the families and their proud natures.

I'm relieved that the plot is finally picking up! Mr. Darcy's character is becoming so interesting and as for the relationship he is building with Elizabeth, while I did predict it, I never expected how forward he would be!

This book is kind of creeping along in terms of the plot, however, I think the root conflict is revealing itself as a love triangle involving Elizabeth. This is actually surprising to me because at first it seemed as if Jane was going to be the main character.

I just got past the introduction of this book and have only finished the first page so far, but already, direct and indirect characterization of Mr. Bennet is developing. At this point, he seems to be blunt with his wife and a bland man in general, however, I'm not very far into the novel as I've said, so that might not be 100% accurate.
