This book is turning into cosmic horror and I am ALL for it. Miéville is incredible at just mortifying the reader. It's not traditionally scary, but instead shocks you with how fucked up it all is. I don't think another author I've read compares to his twisted imagination, except maybe Neil Gaiman. There are multiple times where my jaw has literally dropped in horror.
