In this book, the main character Bryce has a best friend named Garrett. Garrett has a simple life, and cares a lot about social status. Throughout the book, he makes Bryce lose focus of the more important things in life until the end of the book. Bryce eventually breaks away from him, which shows how Bryce evolved and became a better person. Without Garret, we wouldn't see the development of Bryce's character.

I chose this book to read because my mother saw the movie and recommended it for me. I read the summary for the book and it looked very funny and interesting, so I decided that I would read the book before watching the movie.
