this hurts. this hurts so much.

the brutality, the gorey descriptions, the horror, the pure suffering, and lastly, the truth. it is unfathomable, how could something like that occur? it hurts because this was real, so very real, and it was not even a century ago when this all happpened.

how truly terrifying that humans can be. can they even be considered humans?

uGH and the apologies TOO? rf kuang, why are you doing this to me?????

dear r.f kuang, why would you create such a scenario whereby there's a great potential for romance when, knowing you, you'd probably rip all forms of happiness from us? the world shall never know, i shall never know. the hopeless romantic and the fantasy fanatic in me is crying but, at the same time, this story is thriving (rightfully son bc it has been so so good) :")

altan is cool but god, he is a walking red flag. pls stay away from him, rin 😭

this book is definitely the kind that drains your brain juice and requires occasional breaks bc what it unpacks honestly makes me question A LOT and somehow incites a level of fear in me.

i’m afraid of how much it’ll impact my morality and i. which is why breaks are very much needed but the story is also just so good so, in a way, this book is kinda like a drug. how ironic lol

so so good. jiang is hilarious

lord... this is actually so dark but so so good, it's really interesting to see a morally grey character like rin but it also terrifies me.
