Finally remembered to look up whether it's spelled/pronounced "sherbert" or "sherbet." That is, remembered to do it in a place that was NOT the frozen foods aisle. Go me. Today's accomplishment: completed!

*fist pumps* :D"Sherbet" is correct, pronounced "sure-bit." Not to be confused with sorbet (sore-bay)!
However, each is a synonym for "yummy." ;)
Sherbet is a fizzy powder used in soda and candy.Sherbert is an iced dessert made from juice and milk.
Sorbet is basically just frozen pureed fruit, sometimes mixed with water.
(I mix them up all the time.)

Is it really?? I've never heard of the fizzy powder before! I dunno... I keep seeing in my sources that sherbert (with the "r") is just a bastardization of "sherbet," which is the correct term for the iced dessert. The "r" sherbert came about when people mispronounced it so often that it's considered an alternative spelling. >__< And by "sources," I mean ice cream FAQs and grammarist.com, heh, so who knows? :D Haven't yet come across a linguistics and etymology expert's views.
Sherbet is British, I believe. I remember there were a lot of sherbet items back when I played Neopets.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherbet_...

Ahhhh, gotcha. And giggling at Neopets. :D I think American use of "sherbet" is still an iced dessert, though, but maybe that's only when referenced in the U.S.
Sherbet is fizzy powder! (Pronounced sherbert!) Sorbet (pronounced sorbay)is nice (but ice cream is better!)That's correct for over here anyway. :)
