Cheever's writing, for me is very nearly unreadable. The deluded, sheltered, naivete permeating his subject matter (drunk, rich white people) leaves everything to be desired. Boring, unlikeable characters. Depressing, unlucky people with one-percenter problems a lot of the time. Pulitzer-prize winner?! Colorless pap! Cheever sucks.
