Nietzsche : Mortimer, if God exists, why did He give humans the ability to reason and question His existence ?

Adler : I understand your perspective, but I still believe in the power of God to guide us.

Nietzsche: Maybe He just has a good sense of humor .

Nietzsche : He creates this vast universe, and then plunks us humans onto this tiny little planet and says " Figure it out ".

Adler : Morality is rooted in God's nature and his commands.It's not a matter of human opinion.

Nietzsche : If what is good is merely what God commands, then there is no reason to obey God except for fear of punishment.

Adler: God's nature is good because it is based on perfect love and justice. We should obey God out of love and respect for Him.

Nietzsche : Sounds like a classic case of Stockholm Syndrome to me

Adler argues that the universe must have had a beginning, and therefore a cause, which he asserts must be God. Quite debatable, though, because it is based on the premise that the universe must have had a beginning, which is not conclusive. Other theories suggest the universe has always existed and did not have a beginning. In both cases, the same mystery floats, so..all that remains is natural theology.
