Well, Nathan has gotten into the car crash, and survived. HIs parents expectations of him becoming a brilliant genius in some field or other haven't changed; if anything, they've increased. They seem to think that perhaps the accident will act as the trigger to the gloriously successful future they envision for their son. I find that kind of stubborn narrow-mindedness absolutely infuriating.

I'm losing interest in this book, it's too slow and uneventful. I feel like the description jazzed it up a lot, when pretty much nothing happens but the main character feeling mildly annoyed with his parents.

I feel so bad for the main character of this book, Nathan. He's just this average guy with a genius dad and a high-society mom, both of whom have unreasonable and unfair expectations of him. It has got to be tough to have that kind of weight on your shoulders, knowing that even trying your best, you will be a failure and a disappointment in your parents eyes.
