Levitt is now analyzing the role legalized abortion had on crime rates in the late 90s, and he found that a supreme court case, Roe v Wade, led to a direct drop in crime rates around 1995, because mothers now had the power to not bring a child into a harmful environment. Levitts reasoning is interesting as he draws unexpected links, but his arguments make sense in retrospect.

The voice of the author is very colloquial and approachable, and so, even if this book is about statistics and data, its completely readable. Im not too far into the book, but the concept currently in the spotlight, (guns vs pools mortality rate) is very intriguing.
