What intrigued me about this book was nothing to do with the TV show (though that is how I knew who he was) but the fact that he was at the same time a man of deep faith, but also a member of the British SAS. The (borderline) dichotomous mix there has always been a source of frustration for me - on one hand the sanctity of human life and the recognition that all of humanity is created in the image of God and on the other, the sometimes necessary (?) act of taking a life in the protection of another. I stop just short of conscientious objection, but not without a fair deal of theological dissonance.

Didn't mean to get all surrious on ya, but that's why I'm reading the book! (Not because of the pee-drinking) :)
