Cinder has fixed the android that Kai has told her to fix. She finds a unusual chip in the android. SHe hears some of the things the android knew. Kai asks Cinder to the ball, but she says no because they are leaving the the night of the ball. Cinder finds out she is a Luner. Luners are a creature that can control other peoples mins and make them see what they want to see.

Cinder goes to meet Peony, she is immune to the disease that Peony has because of the testing she went through and survived. She is also immune to it because she is a Luner. The Queen of the Luners, Queen Levana, Comes to earth because the prince is weak because the king has died. I really like this book. Peony gets mad that Cinder met Prince Kai. Peony, who is Cinder's sis and only friend, gets sick. Then Adri, Cinder's step-mother volunteers cinder to be tested to find a cure. They find out Cinder is perfect for the testing because she is young. She was told that no one survives the testing. She was forced to be tested. She surprisingly survies the test and she was considered valuable.

This is the story of Cinderella but in the future. cinder is a cyborg. She is the best and only mechanic at New Beijing's weekly market. Prince Kai needs to get something fixed but the palace's mechanics couldn't fix it and suggested he went to Cinder. He thought Cinder was a old man, but he was wrong and it was a teenage girl.
