Who is the killer is obvious, their motive im not convinced. Jordan is just like his daddy. Lonnie’s motivation is not compelling. I get her but then I don’t. The flashback leading up to the death & the trial provides insight into the two women but so far still holding my attention.

Well damn. The killer is obvious but the why is kinda just woven into it. The flashback to that day & the trial is interesting.Jordan is just like his daddy. Lonie’s motivation is just for pure chaos. I mean i get it but then i don’t feel moved or compelled to agree. The affects on his wife tho yikes 😬

This booking is getting good. Easy writing style to get into. Solid character and some predictable story lines. The multiple plots are great on how they weave into each other. Hopefully the “why” pays off in the end

Okay this book is getting good. Easy writing. Solid characters ,multiple plots going on that weave into each other.
But a few things are predictable so trying to figure out the “why” ,hopefully it pays off in the end.

So far so many characters who have dealing with the Gatewood family. Others who know of them.
So its clear the jury was paid off to have Dessi wrongly accused. Jordan is cheating on his wife similar to his father. The judge is corrupt & in a secret society .

so far the writing is good. The description of variety of melanin women is good. Loni is by far the most rebellious of the two friends. Dessi is the innocent shy girl; who may be wrongly convicted of a murder. The “Gatewoods” hmm lets see how this family dirty secrets come out.

So far not bad. Setting up the back story and some key players. But it does a flashback between current times and the past.
