“Looking for clues”&“Practice”:
Those feelings I felt the other day of feeling iffy about the book have went away. I was in the zone when reading today. I particularly liked looking for clues. “Materials for our work surrounds us at every turn. It’s woven into conversation, nature, chance encounters, and existing works of art.” That an integral part of being an artist is deciphering these signs.

Beginners mind. I enjoyed this section of the books lot. It was about approaching things that you do on a regular basis with a fresh almost childlike mind. Approaching things while being naive, and how it can open up a whole new way to the things that you do.

Loved it. You don’t always have to follow the rules, don’t aspire to average. Value your own voice, develop and cherish it. Communicate your singular perspective. Think beyond what’s been done before. Continually challenge your process.

I enjoyed today. Throughout the entire creation process, we can become stuck. A good strategy is to lower what’s at stake. We should submerge ourselves in the process of making things. Don’t let the concept of papancha get to you. Be grateful, grateful that we are fortunate enough to create. Have a desire to create that is bigger than our fear.

These chapters were great. “It’s always there” The sun being a big impact on my mood is exactly how I feel. But it made my perspective on a gloomy day, that even through those thick clouds the sun is still there and will shine through again. “self doubt” flaws are human and while we may wish it gone it is there to serve us. Imperfections make us who we are. Without it we are soulless in the things we do.

I struggled the past 3 chapters. I’ve accepted that not every chapter is going to affect me or hit me in an inspirational way. “Memories and the subconscious” stood out the most today. Pulling high quality information for our subconscious and having it be new material to work on, probably stood out the most from my session today.

I didn’t read much today, just not in the mood. But from what I got. I liked the “submerge” aspect. Looking into the original greats for inspiration and knowing that it will better what you do as you progress. Or how to appreciate nature, and how we don’t need to understand it to admire it. Simply just deepen our connection with it.

I have Alittle bit of a negative perception on the book right now. Reading the comments of this book made me look at it differently. But when reading it I want to believe in the things being said. I like the idea of having this book drive me. Concepts about the universe guiding me to create. That I am simply a vessel being poured into and my works of artistic idea is me expelling those thoughts and ideas.

I’m very much enjoying this book, it’s giving me the drive to create again. Telling me that the universe is sending out this signal through me to create.”There’s a time for certain ideas to arrive, and they find a way to express themselves through us.”
