On pages 8-9, the author did a really good job describing the scenery that Cassie was seeing on her trip. The author told us what Cassie was seeing such as animals, and the view of the canyon. The author really tells how alert Cassie is about driving so she does not hit an animal in her new car.

This book is starting to get into personal lives now but just a little bit because it is talking about how Ben's father was killed during the war in Afghanistan. It was also talking about how Ben has the facial features that his dad had. So I think this book is getting better but I hope that it goes into more detail about Ben's life now that he does not have a dad.

This book so far is very good at building suspense. And the way the author is describing characteristics and traits really gives you a good visual of how the character looks. But even though much action has not happened in this book I feel like later on, this book will be full of action.
