Notes:
(1) I'm more than halfway done reading all the "Futures End" tie-ins. Still, a seemingly endless sting of mostly meaningless one-shots wears on you. I need a palate cleanser.
- This 3-issue Elseworlds miniseries seems just what the doctor ordered.
(2) I have only a vague knowledge of Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos, so hopefully this mashup doesn't get too esoteric.

Notes:
(1) Well, this one ended really weird. Though not in a bad way, necessarily.
(2) Don't know why Batman has to wear a trench coat and a hat over his costume. It's daylight, and he could just walk around as Bruce Wayne.
- Despite the double cover, Gordon knows he's Bruce Wayne somehow.
(3) Barbara being a Spiritualist and quite literally an oracle is inspired thinking.

Notes:
(1) In Elseworlds stories, you can kill characters and not worry about affecting continuity.
- Usually, since it's not canon, these feel blunted, but here they actually feel shocking.
(2) A bit of fan service here where it just runs through a half dozen villains, with 1920s designs and origins.
- Really clever how it all makes sense and ties perfectly into the theme.

Notes:
(1) It took me until the end of the section to realize that the Artic expedition crew at the start were Bruce, Dick, Jason and Tim.
- With that in mind, I had to read it over again.
(2) It's interesting, this 1928 version of Batman saw his parents stabbed to death, and so has no compunctions about using firearms.
- Though whether guns equal killing is another matter.
