humour is mild and dry but i like it

I love the descriptions of the wilderness and the meals they eat. Lots of comfy and cozy vibes that i'm enjoying reading with a cat curled on my lap and a thunderstorm raging outside.
The somewhat formal narrative style is an acquired taste fs, but it does wonders for immersion. Enjoying this a lot. Emily is a rather relatable character. I too am a very thorny person when it comes to social interactions.
