The philosophical allusions were positively interesting to read in dialogue format, the small circle of Julian’s secluded class felt it’s own little symposium on itself. The discussion regarding various types of Divine Madness (according to Plato’s Phaedrus) gave me heart eyes for a little bit until I read on and decided that I wanted to violently beat the living philosophy out of Bunny. What a ****

What the hell.
After chapter 4, I no longer feel like I’m in the Purgatorio of Richard’s loneliness and despair, but now in the descent of Inferno. Needless to say, after that… I needed a silent walk, preferably far away from the woods.

Muddy sheets? Weather obsessions? Sounds like Richard’s on the threshold of stumbling upon some kind of Dionysian ritual.
I adore the atmosphere of Francis’s Aunt’s house, It’s not surprising Richard wanted to live there, it evokes in me, a renitence for utopian spring. The sensory imagery of Francis singing in the kitchen and Charles watching Bunny play Croquet… perhaps a dream, subject to destruction?
