i found this book frustrating. the set up was fairly interesting but then when it starts to reveal its plot turns and twists it just gets more and more ridiculous. it tries to push too many tropes all at once and just doesn't work for me. Ultimately, I found it to be such a mess that I abandoned the book about half way through.
