Wow what a story, this just ends with the who do you think betrayed The Franks and the people in hiding. It didn't seem like it mattered anymore to anyone but to the people investigating it. They suspected Miep but that could not be possible if she had been accused than Mr. Frank also said then accuse me too. They think at the end of it all it could have been the intruder and not so much the person they thought...

The heaviness starts to pull back a little but you get pulled in tight to every word. Things were getting back to normal when Anne's Diary is finally published and completely sells out. A second printing is issued and it brought out so much in people to know it was coming from a young girl. This book floored me it opened my eyes to how it all went down many years ago...

This chapter...I'm at a loss for words you can can feel the heaviness of the times. There was celebration in the beginning people coming back from the camps people coming out of hiding but still there was no sign of Mr. Frank's daughters his family. Until he gets a letter in the mail that said they would not be coming back the emotion in the last part of this chapter is so sad...This book will stay with me for awhile

What a chapter of what it was like back then all the suffering of trying to find food hiding food trying to get the essentials for everyday living things were so hard with the Germans in control now that the war was over everything was now going to get back to normal somehow. There were no more Germans anywhere. It was done Hitler had died in the line of duty...

They continued to also collect Anne's Diary towards the end there. It's crazy how the only part missing from Anne's Diary is when they were found. It's still not something she was able to write down. It's added in later in the book that it just ends because that was the point she along with the rest of the people were found. I do remember it ending on a high note in her short lived life before being found...

Looks like they were found sometime when Miep wasn't aware of what was happening her friends were now taken the Germans had come they found the hiding place. Just before threatening her and her coworkers with a gun pointed to them. Miep did the bravest thing to go right to their headquarters to see what she could do to get them back for any money she could get it didn't work for the time being...

...at her she wasn't sure who this was but it wasn't like Anne at all. Things were beginning to be a little too much for Miep. The strawberries were a hit once they reached her friends...

You can for the first time feel Miep's frustration here in this chapter. Everything she was going through trying to keep everyone safe. Was she providing for her friends the way she needed to was she going to all the right places was there more she could be doing for them. Now everything was fine with the boy Karel they never came looking for him. But what suddenly caught her off guard was Anne who became upset...

Just when you think they were safe Henk and Miep were surprised by officers and they came into their home they found papers relating to someone who they knew but wasn't living there. They were making up a story things got uncomfortable when the kid that they were hiding literally called himself out and said he lived at the address where Miep and Henk lived they had no choice but to tell him to find a new place to be.

The reality of fear was sinking into those in hiding when they would hear the bombing so close to where they were. They would get a close call from looking like there was a large group listening to the radio at night in the office to see what was going on with the war if things were coming to a close. Henk also revealing that he was doing secret work for half a year already he was just revealing to Miep...
