Definitely a book to take your time with. For my first venture in to classical epics it’s far more enjoyable than I imagined the translation does a wonderful job of keeping rhythm in the overall cantos. If you’ve never tried an epic before this is a great start. The authors notes help set the scene as much of the book references the political landscape of Italy at the time.
