It is amazing how the author progresses the characters throughout the story in their own individual stories. I wonder how he's going to tie them up because right now "Orka is out of leads" (Gwynne 337).

The author uses a lot of vivid imagery to help when a fight occurs so the reader can imagine in their head for example Gwynne writes, "Orka [runs] at him duck[ing] his axe swing" (Gwynne 312). It is very exiting as this will go on for a page giving life to the text.

I wonder what would happen the kids Orka freed at the end of the chapter if they decided to "run far away" (Gwynne 299). In this time they probably wouldn't survive with the dangers.

Gwynne uses some more primitive terms to set the time and and I find it a beautiful way to immerse the audience into the book. For example her refers to the brain as a "thought-cage" (Gwynne 285). It really adds more depth to the story and its amazing.

Throughout this chapter, the author has been making the reader feel sadder and tries to make them let their guard down. With what happened recently with the seithr witch's son getting taken and Orka's son getting taken it honestly has made a down mood. With a simple event of just trying to find camp, it seems as nothing will happen by then an attack happens to keep you on your toes and take some of that sadness away.
