Really enjoying this so far. The character development and backgrounds are great, and illustrate society during this time period. The relationship between skeeter and her mother also protrays the hierarchy of southern whites. Marital pressures and ages reflect the strong push to normalcy post WWII. Skeeter presents a contrast to her friends, and foreshadows the changing elements of this period.
