also btw am screaming at the way hastings still sounds so young when in fact he must be… i mean the novel is definitely set quite a few years after wwii and hastings was 30 in 1916 which would make him at LEAST 60, probably older (maybe some…75?) which just. Holy Shit 😭
(also am rather glad that christie wrote curtain in the early 40s; it is already gleaming with some of ye olde christie charm)
