I’m learning about Ayn Rand a 20th century philosopher who wrote 2 well known books
“The fountain head” and “Atlas shrugged” in the second book a character states “weather it’s a symphony or a coal mine, all work is an act of creating, and comes from the same source (God) the capacity to see, to connect and to make what had not been seen, and connected before.”

This book is not an easy read 😂

Following the rules is more freedom

There’s a purpose to the toiling and the work because. There is a future healed world, and your work in part shows that to others

Tim Keller portrays a story of JR Tolkien writing lord of the rings, and struggling greatly being too much of a “Niggle” meaning “to cause slight but persistent annoyance, discomfort, or anxiety.”
Always perfecting the details he never much focused on the whole picture. Causing the story to go unfinished

-So he created lead my Niggle a beautiful story convicting himself. To ashes we shall return, the same as Niggle, but his kind heart kept him from being so wrapped up in his piece, and even though he never finished it. The Lord took his work and finished it perfectly.
