There's a lot of familiar ground trod here...but dang, the setting and the villain really make this a different sort of Western. The bad guys are fanatical abolitionists, and they even use the whole "if you oppose the rapes/torture/murders we commit, then you must love slavery!" line to manipulate and cow anyone who tries to stop them. Imagine trying to oppose that! Nuance ain't exactly beloved, not then and not now.

All right, Frenchman. It's set during the "Bleeding Kansas" period, but the villain is an evil cult leader...who's also a fanatical abolitionist? You've got my attention.
