If I could only have one author on the spiritual life, I think I might very well choose Abbot Lehodey. He’s so knowledgeable and balanced. I can learn hard truths from him and yet not feel like I have been bludgeoned in the process. It’s not something that you binge read, it’s a very slow process to take everything in. But that’s handy, because I really don’t want it to end.

I’ve seldom read a book where the holiness of the author seems to so radiate off the page. It’s got such a gentle grace to it, in spite of being quite crazy challenging.

This could very well be my favorite spiritual writer of all time.
