The problem with watching the show before reading the book (and vice versa) is that it is inevitable that comparisons will be made.

I am glad certain characters did not die like on the show, I appreciate that certain choices were made by the TV writers which worked better than what the author did, a certain character underwent a VERY different character change and some characters got better depth.
But the lore here works more for me.
