Love how it's taking me months to finish this book.
The TechnoCore part is the most confusing. At first I thought it was all "we are Legion" but now there's factions in the Core? And they want to kiss Johnny because he wanted to be human and is part of the Hyperion unknown. Cool.

Ok so far, everyone who's encountered Hyperion has been lured by some desire or circumstance that caused their first trip and is the reason behind their second trip. Was the Shrike manipulating them from the start or did fate bring them a terrible way?

oh yeah this is definitely one of those sci-fi concepts that clearly the point is what a disaster it would be irl but Elom Musk will probably try it someday.
The idea of a cybrid is both amazing and completely horrifying. So M. Masteen is dead/missing and they're very close to their goal. Miss. Lamia has taken control like a fucking G and she's a hot neo-noir detective who is strangely horny for humanoids.

Sol's entry made me ugly cry. All he went through with his daughter, her name being Rachel and her mother being Sarai and all the alluding to sacrifice and I have no words. Brilliant.

Sometimes I feel bad about how slow I read certain books these days, but it gives me time to digest and gargle it all together. At least that's my comfort.

Soldier's Tale is one of my favorites so far and Kassad is am amazing narrator to follow. My main complaint with all the sexual content and the sole female love interest remains, even with the understanding of what happens at the end of that cycle. Then again, it's science fiction written by a man in the 80's so expectations must be tempered I guess.
